Hopefully, the ordnance reports for 1865 will identify which company(ies) of the 2nd Missouri Light Artillery manned the two 3" ordnance rifles in Cole's column during the Powder River Expedition.

I had mentioned before that not all of the companies of the 2nd Missouri Light Artillery on the expedition had been equipped with that type gun - Company B comes to mind. Col. Nelson Cole had previously witnessed the gunnery expertise of Company L and Company H using these type pieces during Price's Raid of 1864. (Cole was Gen. Alfred Pleasonton's chief of staff during the pursuit of the Confederates across Missouri and into Kansas.) Company L had four ordnance rifles, while Company H was equipped with six. (Two of Company H's guns were detached from the battery and did not accompany Pleasonton's Division in pursuit of Price.)

You might like to know I had access to the entire compiled military service records of all of the men in the 2nd Missouri Light Artillery (microfilm), but was never able to identify the unit(s) which serviced the guns in Cole's column on the 1865 Powder River Expedition aftrer an extensive review of those records. Unfortunately, the men/company assigned to the guns could have been rotated during the expedition.
