Gentlemen-Hello. You all seem to have great knowledge in the area of civil war research. I wonder if you have any tips on locating information on a veteran of the Civil War who was born in Germany. Samuel Doebner (Selmir) served in DeBray's company and was dispatched to serve aboard the "Carr" in Galveston. I have located him in census records and he listed his occupation as "sailor". Do you have any suggestions regarding how to find information on veterans who served in the Navy? I have the NARA service record, which gave be some very good information, and I have located burial records and information regarding his wives and children, but I wonder if there are other military sources of information that I do not know about. Do you have any suggestions as to where I might look next?

Thank you.
