Terry,

The Godwin information supplied by Elizabeth was removed the same day I sent my letter. I know, cause I copied it on July 23, and checked it later. My article on the Texas State Cemetery page clearly states he was born in West Stower, Dorset, not has your page stated Liverpool or Lyndhurst. The "or" gives it away, you and Elizabeth, clearly didn't know. The marriage of Godwin took place in Dorset, not Lyndhurst; I know, cause I went there. It states on those marriage lines "petty officer, Alabama". How can this be my flawed information Terry? I never had Godwin when Marvel noted my information in the Liverpool Library.

You removed it cause you knew it was wrong. You don't check the information you receive and as such some of your sources ARE in question. We both have a problem with errors Terry, I admit mine. You hide behind updating them.
The Echo article which you do quote on its own with Marvel, or was last time I looked, and yet not the person who sent it to you. My finding of it was published in 1989 Terry, you are using it without my, or the Round Table's permission. Do you wonder why I made those remarks. I would be very happy to apologise Terry when you stop making excuses and side tracking the issue.

I've always only wanted my name to some of the crew now shown on your site and John Collier's. It's my work Terry, under someone else's name. I'll name just a few of them here, cause I don't have Marvel's book at hand having loaned it out to a guy in London; Burrell, Potter, Horwood, Caren, Allcot, Mars (which says he died in London. My error Terry, not Marvel's) Brewer, Egan, Henry, Appleby, Johns, are just some I can recall that Marvel noted down from my notes.

The other's I have picked up over the years, and I assure you I have information on them all; Duggan, Legris, Robert and Thomas Williams, Freemantle, Thurston, Townshend, O'Grady, Cosgrove, Godson, Godwin, Nordstrom, Brent Johnston, Yeoman, Kinshela, Morgan, Francis Ernest Curran, Purdy, Connor, Duncan, Mair, Robertson, McFadyn, McMillan, Brosnan, Bradley, Ahearn, Levins, Molk, Miditch, Tucker, Kernot, Renton, McGinley, Seymour, Latham, Peter Hughes, McFarlane, Bartelli, Mason, John Roberts, Rawes, Laverty, Joseph Neal and John Neil, John Emery, David Roach, Foxton, Masters, Fitzmaurice, Andrew Shilland, Edwin and William Jones, Fripp, Crawford, Hourigan, Hobbs (did you know Terry, I have a seaman Russell Hobbs born in London in 1808 and deserted at Savannah. Dave refuses this as his relative) Welham, Higgs, Parkinson, Devine, a load more on the Great Eastern not sure about, and David Leggett with 7 other Alabama seamen on board a merchant vessel after the sinking of the Alabama.

Lets look at another point of issue. One of your last comments was to mention my postings in the genealogy message boards. You are on dangerous ground here Terry, for it tells me that you are clearly monitoring my messages on the internet about the Alabama crew I'm researching. Its all very commendable to see the errors I'm making, and wanting to put them straight, but if I am not the person who supplied information to Marvel in your eyes, and have tried to prove it in my copying his letters in here, you seem very fascinated in keeping abreast of my messages about the crew? To be honest Terry, I don't think I want to hear your explanation of this. You know of the messages, and you have said you ignore them. That's fine with me Terry.

You always quote official records Terry, but fail to mention the personal records. My Brooks information came from a relative. When somebody in this country is awarded a medal from the Queen, that person is informed months in advance of receiving the award. Does my article mention that he never left his room? I'm not writing a book, but a brief story about the man. My Patrick Bradley article consist of his birth, service on the Alabama, and burial. I have to try and stick all of the notes evenly. I have more on Townshend than I do on Legris and Molk put together.

I have all my sources for Yonge and Brooks. If the Round Table didn't get then at the time, I would be most happy to supply them with a copy. It was so long ago I cannot remember now. I have all my letters and material over the years, if they are not with me, they are with the Maritime Record Office where I have donated it.
If you have names to name Terry over the many accusations I have made, name them, so I can give you my reason. At this moment in time I cannot recall upsetting anyone, but they can write to me at my address if they wish. For all I know you could be talking of the people I named in here.
