Hi Sally,
I think I have the John Moonlight you mention. Elizabeth was born 10 March 1825 (died young) then William, 11 Feb 1827, and the John I think you have, 9 December 1828 another Elizabeth was baptised 29 March 1831 then Thomas (the soldier) on 30 September 1833. Their parents were Thomas Moonlight b. 7 May 1802 and Agnes Scott. Thomas Moonlight's father was John Moonlight who married Magdaline Scott in November 1794 in Brechin. Did John also go to the United States?
