A very late reply here ... I've done some more Pelot research in order to post some information to the Fairview Cemetery in Sweet Springs, MO where the doctor and his family are buried.
Dr. James Malachi Pelot's wife was Eleanor Johnson Buekley. Her father was Rev. Olcott Buekley. Her mother was Ann Elizabeth Johnson, so Eleanor carries her maternal grandfather's name as a middle name. Eleanor J. Pelot was born in Cumberland County, Virginia. Trying to read family death certificates it looks as though the name of the community of birth was Cary, but if so, the hamlet not longer exists.
