Marsha, you might have to excuse me as I have an interest in Christian CO.IL.and know of two Sherrill's from Christian CO.IL. in the 113th. My GGGGrandfather served in this unit.Recieved shrapnel to his head crossing the TN.river under artillery fire at Eastport,MS..One was Francis M. Sherill killed Oct.22,1862 at Covington KY and a Samuel J.mustered out June11, 1865.Elliot is a Border Scots surname.You were looking for sources check out :

It states Cpl.Sherrill along with 39 others were killed and 122 wounded from the 41st in the Jackson battle. Good luck!
