My wife Maggi and I are very devastated at this news, but thank you both very much for taking the time to respond to us. Owning his home and rstoring it to its original grandure was a dream come true for us and we were always hopeful we would one day find his burial plot. I cant believe that even a relative of such a distinguished Commodore would even consider desecrating his grave and scattering his remains in such a fashion. I sincerely hope that he is returned one day to his family plot. I would be happy to get my hands on a headstone and set aside a plot on our (his) Buchanan home to lay whatever remains I could get my hands on if thats what it would take. I (we) are also greatful to find another Whittle family source as we have several other unsolved and/or unknowm questions and are looking for some additional sources (family photos, military pictures/paintings) SOMETHING we could get copuies of to hang in one of the 4 bedrooms at our restauant & B&B we have opened in his home (and have honored him by naming the room 'The Commodore Room'.
