I am hoping someone either related to or has previous personal knowledge can tell me where Commodore William C. Whittle, Sr. of the Confederate Navy is buried? I found his son's plot in Norfolk, as well as Thr Sinclair family plot they married into, but no Commodore. The only information I can find is that he was born in Martinsville and possibly died in Bent Mountain, VA at his son-in-laws house Coles-Terry. I have done a preliminary search online of grave yards during this timeframe (died around 1878-1880) but to no avail. Can anyone point me in the right direction??
