The Women in the Civil War Message Board

Carol,

I have posted on this board a couple of times but there did not seem to be much interest. I rarely check it anymore and was pleasantly surprised that you had a thread going.

I have read the 3 books on Mary Chestnut's Diary including the parts she left out of her first publishing. It is very interesting.

However, she represents the wealthy woman and I wish there were more from the working class besides the women who worked as nurses. I have a bookshelf full of diaries and memoirs but not enough came from the average woman.
