"A Diary From Dixie"

I do not know if this is appropriate for this site. I have visited many times and found zero (0) messages....so here goes.....

I would like to recommend the book "A Diary From Dixie". This is a compelling historical journal kept by Mary Chestnut, wife of James Chestnut, Jr./aide to President Jefferson Davis. I have personally read the book four (4) times. The second time around, I kept a pen and notebook handy to make notes. I then did my research of the events. It is a journey with the women/wives of the officers who made critical stategic decisions. The book is well illustrated with photo's of officers as well as homesites, etc. I feel this is a must read for every woman who has an interest in the Civil War.
