Re: Civilian Reenactor
In Response To: Re: Civilian Reenactor ()

I have lived here close to Tulsa for 10 years and have been to the mall about 10 times and that is because my grandsons wanted to go. I watch History Channel and football on tv. GO COWBOYS! How about that Tony Romo! I have lots of Civil War movies that I watch when I get the mood.

The first thing you need to do is choose who you want to be. Working class, plantation mistress, etc. Then you start working on your wardrobe AND DON'T START BUYING THINGS YET. Go to a few events and find out if this is for you. You only need one outfit to do that.

I will email you off the board tomorrow evening to tell you how to get started on a budget. Also, I will almost definitely be at Jefferson and have my refugee tent set up.

We are part of the crowd who don't spend the night in camp but go the fort at night. Fort Holiday Inn, Fort Econo Lodge, whatever is convenient. My husband complains, but I don't feel up to spending the night in a tent and I make him go with me. He is a member of the 22nd AR Infantry.
