Carol,
About posting to re-enactors, why don't you write to Jim Martin and get his opinion. He is a rather gentle soul and will give good advise. In case you might not know, Jim is the web master here.
As for Mary Chestnut, she brings a lot to the table. I think she might have suffered from what we call depression today but she was a good lady and her diary reveals a lot about the Aristocratic life in the old south and then again life in general for that time. I have her in my library.
