Bill,
I'm still around, am confused over your statement of "having copies" of these letters. What I have is written in his own hand. I regret not asking my folks more about them, they were just kind of a forgotten bundle of letters wrapped in a old cloth. My parents, my aunts and uncles, are all gone. I would love to know where Thompson fits in to the Guthery's tree. I know nothing of my grandparents maiden names, or info like that. We are from Effingham, Illionis (I was born there), I checked my moms old bible where she had written some family history but sadly she wrote in pencil and it has faded almost beyond reading. Maybe someday I will do that Ancestors.com thing and see what comes up.
Mike
