Mike, having a collection like that is becoming a rarity. Do yourself and others a favor and type the content of those letters on regular paper, get acid free clear pages and put both the typed and original letters (and envelopes)in them and put the entire collection in a 3-ring binder. You may want to consider publishing them There is never a lack of interest when it comes to first person accounts of the civil war! I would love to know what's in the letters. Is there any old photographs of your family? Maybe there is a picture of him too. Anyways, my main interest is the 30th ILL Inf and every so often a new first person source is found, perhaps in a local library or the such, that someone had "deciphered" letters (like yours) and made it available to others. Matt.
