I once more take my pen in hand to inform you that I am well at present and I hope when these few lines comes to hand they may find you all well and doing well. I received two letters from you yesterday and I was glad to hear that you was well and doing well. I ain't heard from Jo since January the 24 and I got a letter from him and I will send you his letter and you can read it.We have been on a march for 14 days and just got back yesterday. We went to Franklin, Tennessee. I am mighty ni wore out for it has been mighty bad weather and muddy while we was at Franklin. I seen three men tied to a cannon and they had their heads shaved and they was whipped and they got fifty lashes apiece and drummed out of the service. They took off their shirts and whipped them on their naked backs and they whipped them until the blood run down their backs.Well, I got that ten dollar bill that you sent to me and you said that if I could do anything with it you would send me some more of it. I would like to have a hundred dollars of it if I could get it for it is as good here as any money. You said that you had bought John Tuckers place.
