I copy a record typical of a number of seriously wounded/sick men of the 43rd Tennessee.

George Martin

Cawood, Andrew J., Capt., Co. B, age 36, enlisted October 16, 1861 at Sulpur Springs, Tenn., severely wounded in leg, leg broke, in action June 22, 1863, captured in hospital at Vicksburg and paroled July 4-15, 1863, shipped July 24 with paroled sick and wounded prisoners from Vicksburg to Mobile, Ala. via New Orleans, La., died August 2/5, 1863 at Point Clear Confederate Hospital, Mobile Bay, Ala.
