Back again...Robert Flett's Prisoner of War records say..."Captured at Frying Pan Church,Va. June 4,1860. Confined at Richmond, Va. June 6,1860. Paroled at City Point, Va. June 13th, 1863. Reported at Camp Parole, Md. June 14th, 1863. Sent from CP (Camp Parole) Md to Cav. Depot Wash.DC Sept 24/63.(Absent from roll May-June 1863 and present again Sept /63).
He was also absent Mar-April 64...sick at Mansion House Hospital, Alexandria Va.Admiited March 15th with Rubeola and cured April 10th.
Not sure how I can pursue this further, but perhaps Camp Parole and the Mansion House Hospital would have further records. Would you know if they do???
Have found interesting information on City Point and Camp Parole on Google.
It was very interesting in your information that Custers kept several regs. after the War and sent them to the Dakotas. Robert was actually found in a census in the Dakotas working as a freighter?? in 1880.
Thank you again for all your help. If you can think of any more sources for tracing Robert, I would most appreciated them. Sharon
