Re: Beverly James Dickerson killed in Indiana

I don't know where his wife went after his death. I'll see if Amanda left anything in her papers about the others, but probably not likely. She mostly wrote down marriages, deaths, etc., and for some reason, probably because Franka came to live with them for a while, she had her name in the family Bible. A lot of the entries there are really hard to read, so I know Amanda didn't write them, as she had beautiful handwriting. I checked out Illinois cemeteries but I couldn't find any burial information for B.J. I wonder if Martha could have re-married, making it difficult to find her.

My grandfather, Richard Stanley Springgate, knew his grandmother well, since she lived with them in El Paso. His maternal grandmother, Jane Nance Snider, also lived with them after the death of her husband, A.J. Snider. In 1905, just a few days before her death, Amanda gave my grandfather an ivory covered photo album with family pictures including William Perry Springate and Amanda. My grandfather never got to know W.P. as he passed away in 1878, twelve years before his birth. The photos are posted on my Ancestry.com site, Springgate's of KY.
