I am the commander of a unit that reenacts the 8th VRC. We are based out of Lombard, Illinois, where Colonel Sweet moved after the War ended. We are just starting our second year, and will be at Wauconda next weekend. The group is always looking for new members if anyone is interested; we do a non-combat, camp-life impression, and try to accommodate anyone with an interest in learning and educating about the 8th VRC.
