We are in the process of organiaing a Midwestern unit of the V.R.C., dedicated to education & re-enacting of this little known aspect of Civil War units. Please e-mail me for more information.The TO&E will largely comprise independent companies that were formed in the Midwest (MO,IL, IA, IN, WI), mostly which were in the 2nd BN, V.R.C. There are about 24 organizations scattered between those states. One of our goals is to be able to "localize" units to enable physically challenged persons to still be active re-enactors, as well as to develop local histories, etc. Please e-mail me for more information.
