Today online I came across a listing of items presented to the Nimitz Library at the Naval Academy by the family of Dr. Daniel D. T. Nestell. He had been the surgeon on the Clifton and was imprisoned at Camp Ford.I have a copy of a deposition he wrote attesting to Great grandfarther's injuries. The collection includes letters, descriptions and sketches of battles and photographs...including some of the Clifton crew.They may not be the ones I'm looking for, but it will be worth a look.Since I live in Baltimore it will not be too difficut for me to get to the Academy. I understand I have to arrange for an appointment. I'll let you know how I make out.
