At the Confederate Museum in New Orleans several years ago I was told that the crews of the ships involved in the Sabine Pass encounter were photographed before they left New Orleans. I have been searching for a picture of the USS Clifton's Crew which would have included my Great Grandfather, who was captured at Sabine Pass.
I would appreciate any advice in finding this picture, thank you.
