I wonder what would have happened if, on their final cruise back to England and knowing that the final Confederate surrender had indeed occured, the SHENANDOAH had come in contact with a Union man of war?
I do know, from the many entries in the ORN, that there was much dissension amongst the officers and crew, after the fact, with about two or three groups wanting to go to different destinations, including one group wanting to head back to Australia.
