The only six-pound bronze gun reported at Gettysburg was indeed with Captain A. C. Latham's North Carolina battery. The marker to the battery states that this particular gun was disabled on 2 July (1863), but it did see some action because a six-pound round was recovered at Devil's Den, and a six-pound solid shot was found in the Wheatfield by Andrew Heintzelman. The distance traveled in both instances was approximately 3400 feet.
