Glen, I don't have any totals on 6 pounders manufactured other than Tredegar, that made about 230 iron tubes. By late 1862 the 6 pounder was being phased out for the more powerful Napoleon and the newer rifled guns. They continued to be used in the Western Theater but in the East there numbers were dropping quickly. I've read (can't site the source) that there was only one six pounder at Gettysburg. It belonged to a South Carolina unit. But I read recently that Latham's North Carolina Battery had one or two there. The six pounder is a graceful piece of work and looks romantically like a cannon should. But as you can see from the 1841 model number it had already seen it's heyday.
