I am in need of some info on a 6 pounder, I will be falling in on one in a few weeks and need to know about it to speak to the public. What is the effective range? What is the powder load? How much does the gun/limber weigh on the move? How many rounds were in the chest? What was the standard chest load break down by projectile type? About how many were used during the war? Any other info would be great. I am a 3in rifle/ 3.75 Blakely fellow and this is the first time I will be interacting with the public about the 6 pounder.
