Re: Ruggles' line of guns
In Response To: Re: Ruggles' line of guns ()

Greetings,
Upon looking into the history of Stanford's Mississippi Battery I have learned a couple things related to this discussion. Bain's Mississippi Battery, also known as the Vaiden Light Artillery, in fact was not fully equipped and only had a section of men serving on two of Stanford's guns. I had two ancestors serving in the Vaiden Light. On the way to Pittsburg Landing, Stanford's Mississippi Battery had one gun left due to a mechanical breakdown. The type of the piece is not noted in the diary. So I must agree that Bain's guns should be deleted from the list and also one of Stanford's.
