Thanks Ron. I know you are well versed in this action. I have read some of your posts on other forums. I just stumbled on that website and thought I'd pass it on. This was not my research or "version" of what happened. I did like the guy's theory that the noise, smoke, and confusion of that many guns firing in such a concentrated area could have accounted for the conditions to be ripe for Confederate forces to move more freely on the flanks without being observed. I also noticed in the amended accounts in the OR after the fact that even Bragg himself took some credit for organizing this grand battery. I'm trying to learn more about western operations and anything artillery related. It's really surprising that there isn't more concrete info on this part of the battle. That I can find anyway.
