Charles W. Wells was born Sept. 4, 1830, in Berkeley Co., VA, according to his biography. No death date on him, but after the war he came back to Ann Arbor, MI and then settled in Jackson Co., MI after 1878.

Charles was a carriage maker by trade and he travelled extensively across the country according to his biography.

He is shown on the 1860 Dunklin Co., MO census with a wife and 3 children. This makes me wonder why he would enlist with an OH group rather than a MO group.

I thank you for responding and appreciate any help you can provide.
