Re: Survey of the Southern Boundary of KS

Daniel,
Thanks, for Posting that site-that site gives near exact location for the 11 Astronomical station's-he started some where near Baxer Springs Mo.heading West into Ok- station-(Montgomery Co Ok)
on to Now-Osage Co at Elgin- Township-T13R29N2E ToT13R29N9E
to Now Kay Co.
Chilocco this at a Osage Indian Reserv. all near Kansas and Ok line. this conversion to Township(easier to compute) show that he has traveled abt 42 mile in- Airline mile's- in a near straight line West within abt a error of less than a mile to 2 Feet in 42 miles.Depending on exactly where in the 2 section's of #2 and #9 are-Astro.stations and the exact Degree's the stations are at.
And he's heading West also --into Comanche Co and the Cimarron Co and on to 9M. west of Kansas-Colorado line-its very clear all are on the S Kansas --Northern -Ok boundray line.
This was for the survey for the railroads as stated in 1857.
