Re: Survey of the Southern Boundary of KS

Ken,
Did you note,J.E. Johnston's July 7th (#(50)survey 117) position,--South Boundary of Kansas- starting on May 16 and ending on Oct 29 1857
Refer.(On his position)On July 7,1857-- 'Joe said'- the Osage Indian's refer to the "Little Arkansas and the Red Fork" to the stream now known as the salt fork of the Arkansas River-
he then cites Nathan Boone 1843 survey- He then gives his description,of the streams,valleys,mountains.ect- and give his position on his survey.
It looks like he is it Keystone, and this is also, is near the exact same -that Cooper and the Texan's give in the "Battle of Round Mountain"-reports--this information has never been a part of the Keystone-Yale site's location-question-this would Ex-clude Yale--as this has been mis-understood as to the meaning of "Red fork of the Arkansas" for 100 + yrs? There is little question (to me) that he is near this Keystone position.
