In Response To: Masons at Mine Creek ()

Scott I have heard of this same thing through the years and not only at Mine Creek. I have seen an account in an 1885 County History of Crawford County in which a former Kansas soldier of the 2nd Ks stated that he saw on one occasion six confederate soldiers executed after the Lawrence Raid, origionally there were eight and he stated that two gave a sign(s) and were removed. He went on to state that he saw the same thing during the Price Raid. Whether this was at Mine Creek or Westport he does not say. This is an area that could use some serious research. I am particularly interested in the executions of the men who are, "buried where Pittsburg is now."
