The museum will be on Walnut Street in Augusta, Arkansas in Woodruff County. Not sure when it will open exactly because there is alot of restoration work going on. The museum will be in the old Hyde house in Augusta. This house was here during the CW. Some of the town is located in a history walk that takes you by houses and buildings that were here during the CW.
I am in the process of making a plat of Augusta and a map of Woodruff County from the time period. Hopefully will be able to make a plat of Cotton Plant, Peach Orchard Bluff, Gage's Point, Camp Cache and other communities.
I would love to find actual engineer maps of the county from the time period. I have a plat map of the county from 1915 that is fairly close to showing alot of the old roads, but the closer to 1860 the better.

I have been talking to alot of the older folks, but they are getting far and few in between. Alot of them have helped me greatly in the accounts that were passed down from their elders. Shame that most of this never got recorded. With each passing generation goes a bit more history. I wish I would have gotten into researching the history along time ago. No telling what I could have come up with.

I live about 7 miles from Peach Orchard Bluff and about 6 miles from Curtis' camp on Cache River. Cache River and Black Swamp is part of my old stomping ground. We have duck hunted in that swamp since we were little kids. I know several of the old camps as well as other places of intrest back in on the swamp. Lots of history there.
