Hello, for the most part Nashville and Louisville were simply stop offs or holding places until the Federal Government decided where they were to go. This would have been the route that thousands were taken to end up at Camp Chase for example. Many times prisoners were also taken from one prison to another. Some of the prisoners at Camp Chase were re-routed to Camp Douglas and to Point Lookout and Fort Delaware for example. And this also happened in reverse at times. Your best bet would be to order his CMSR and hopefully you can trace his steps.
