Dear George Purvis.your are right I camme across the same info at the kentucky dept of libuarys and archives.Ialso came across a web site run by a fellow named Weaver first name was i think Jim.This web says that a william graybeal age 18 co d n.c. calvary died at fort delaware on 8-27-1864,but i could not get into it or it may have given a roster of ashe county graybeals.This site was found on google.Anyway thank you very much for you help.Williams father eli had a brother named Calvin Graybeal who survived fort delaware.he lived at division 12 outside barracs.
