I am by NO means an authority on this subject, but I would tend to believe that your model was a lot nicer that the one that was actually used. "Two Flags Flying" by Donald B. Sobel did a short chapter on this story with an image that looks like the one you posted. The dummy did its job however and was well worth the investment.
