Hi Terry...

That's pretty much what I have...I have made contact with Bob McEvoy who has been on the boards as well. He has imparted most of that info to me and I have some family docs to back most of it up...It is my understanding from family records that GGG Grandaddy Miles was, in fact, born in Wales. He disappeared off the census records after a certain date and we have not been able to find a death certificate or a grave site on him...Bob McEvoy specializes in finding the graves of CW veterans and giving them "proper' burials..and that would be my goal for my GGG Grandpa Miles...but no one seems to be able to find out when/where he, in fact, died and was buried...it does not seem that it was with his wife Caroline ("Carrie")...big mystery. Might you have info/docs about his time at Ft. Warren? I also was interested in finding out when/how he got to the states and I know he lived in New Orleans, LA for a while...could check out those leads (specific addresses/employers at the time) and find more info on him...but I live in St. Louis and it's hard to do that research from here. Single salary (stay at home mom) so taking off and going to explore is somewhat out of the question...the internet is pretty much my only outlet...that and people like you who have already done the research...don't mean to seem so much like a leech...but its all I have to go on. Hope all is well..thanks for your quick response...would be interested in any future findings you may have regarding GGG Miles. Thanks again. Sue

By the way, I am descended from Miles' son William V. Freeman...just in case you were wondering. Just out of curiosity, where are you located and what is the basis of your never ending interest in the CSS Alabama???
