Dennis, thanks for the offer, but no need to transcribe the article, as I may already have it in my collections. Over the last couple of decades I have been perusing copies of the New York newspapers (Herald, Tribune, Times, etc.), as well as many other Civil War era newspapers available at several sources over here, and have managed to make copies of perhaps thousands of Naval and other Civil War related items. I do recall having made copies of a number of items relating to Key West, as well as yellow fever items. I have also, thankfully, located some items relating to some rather interesting and almost certainly unknown subjects, such as two different reports, in post war American newspapers of African American females serving in disguise as males, in colored units, during the war. One applied for a pension from the U.S. government. This was the first that I had ever heard of African American females serving in disguise, and authors (of works on females who served as soldiers during the war) that I contacted had not heard of this before. Many of these reports, of course, need to be thoroughly verified before being accepted as fact. There is no doubt that we are still learning a lot of unknown factors relating to the war, that we do not yet know of. Authors such as Dr. Tom Lowry are indeed opening our eyes to such revelations.
