Re: Protective netting inside casemate ironclads?

Hello- There were two ships constructed for the Confederacy at Birkenfead that were turreted. Federal diplomatic pressure prevented the British from releasing the ships Scorpion (C.S.S. North Carolina) and Wivern (C.S.S. Mississippi). They were held on strength for the RN.
Unlike the casement built ironclads used by the south these vessels were sea-going.
