It was rather crude and large. Pretty deep and just in the swell. Looked more like something done in the field. Not like it was machined for something to fit into. Looked like it could have been done with a large round file. or hell, being bronze it could have been done with a rock. It was rough. I'll try to get you a picture of it. I know I'll be up there again soon. Thanks Ron. It's always a pleasure to pick your artillery brain. Oh, ya know, there was no astragal on that tube. I guess that was another feature of a six pounder being turned into a "false Napoleon".
