Mike: I have been researching the deaths of Confederate Soldiers at Franklin and Nashville for over 25 years. My research has Cpl. Nielson (Neilson) mortally wounded at Nashville on Dec. 15 (1st day of battle), 1864 and dying in a Federal POW Hospital in Nashville on Jan. 14, 1865. Although all Federal and Confederate Dead were originally buried in Nashville's Old City Cemetery, the Confederate Dead were later relocated to Confederate Circle (mass Burial) in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Nashville in 1869. There is a beautiful Confederate Monument atop this Mass Burial with many Flat VA Grave Markers laid around it identifying the Mortally wounded and captured from the Battles of Nashville and Franklin. I do believe George has one of these markers that we put down in July, 1995.

I also have Pvt. J. A. Wright listed at Killed on December 15, 1864. He his believed to have been taken from the battlefield and buried with the other CSA Dead in Old City Cemetery thus also believed to be at Mt. Olivet. Sorry I do not have Pvt. Wright's full name or age or age for Cpl. Nielson.
