Re: 183rd Ohio at Battle of Franklin

In the book Confederacys Last Hurray one battle map shows that there were eight companies of the 183rd in the retrenched line behind the main entrenchment just west of the smokehouse behind the 72nd Illinois and the 111th Ohio.It also shows two companies of the 183rd on the main entrenchment line east of Carters Creek Road between the 107th Illinois and 23rd Michigan being assaulted by T.B.Smith. I also have a detailed map that was put out by the Carter House in Franklin Tenn. and it also shows the same positions that the book does. The book is a very good book to read, it mentions the 183rd during the heat of battle.
