I do know that Company F/183rd Ohio was very close to the Carter House at one time, that is where my 2nd great grandfather, Pvt. Noah Colcher, was killed. My great grandfather, John W. Trotter, Co.A/50th Tennessee Infantry was pushing in and engaged the Ohio regiment. He could have very well been the Confederate soldier that shot Pvt. Colcher. He is buried in Murfreesboro, TN in the Stones River National Cemetery.
