Henry Hinson enlisted 10/14/1861 as 1st Sgt Co B 73rd OVI. He was promoted 3 times; 2nd Lt 11/20/1861, 1st Lt 5/21/1862, Captain 8/29/1863. He resigned 10/20/1864.

Giles Hinson enlisted 9/25/1861 as a Sgt Co B 63rd OVI, aged 28. He was promoted twice; 2nd Lt 10/4/1862, 1st Lt 6/1/1863. He resigned 10/5/1864.
