From what you have written, I can not tell if you have his compiled military records or not. If you don't, I highly recommend that you order them. You can do so by clicking on the box at the top of the page.

He was in a lot of hard fighting between June 16 and Septembr 17, 1864.
In addition to Kennesaw Mountain, you had Peachtree Creek [July 19-20], the Seige of Atlanta [July 22 to August 25], Jonesboro Campaign [August 25-30], Battle of Jonesboro [August 31-september 1] and Lovejoy Station [September 2-6]. He could have been wounded anywhere along the way but probably at Lovejoy Station or he could have just carried that wound he got at Kennesaw Mountain which semed not to want to heal - 3 months of agony trying to keep up with the unit and fight too.
