My wife is writing about him and his family because he along with his brother Frederick and their mother have a hereditary deafness and my wife has a B.A. degree in Deaf Studies with a Minor in History. There is no information written about the family's deafness. My wife wrote a paper in college in a Deaf History class and she had to choose from a list of people and she chose Barnard.
