Thanks for your reply. I did send away for the records from the National Archives, but there was little help in regards to his final resting place. I guess I was overly optimistic that he could be found. He was captured in Athens, Tenn and initially taken to Danville, VA. The records show he died in Spotsylvania or Pitsylvania. I have recently learned that there was no prison in Spotsylvania. I just had to try and see if he could be located. I will check with the organizations you have listed for info about some type of stone or marker.
