Are any regulars on this board familiar with the 1st Kansas Battery? I visited the Prairie Grove site in Arkansas last week and discovered that my ancestor, Marcus Tenney, played an important role in that battle, along with the other Kansas artillery units under Blunt.

Tenney's records show that he joined the 10th Kansas Infantry in August 1861, and then the Battery was apparently formed from that group. (I'm not exactly certain how that worked -- maybe somebody has more accurate information?)

Tenney was a rabid abolitionist, so I am curious to find out if his units were among the more "active" in terms of Jayhawking raids along the border, etc.

Also, would anybody know where I might find photographs of Kansas units?
