It looks like Company M, 14th Kansas Cavalry includes a majority of Indians from various tribes. I recognize Delaware and Shawnee names and judging from the other names it seems up to 95% could be Indian. Jim Bob, John Bob, Dick, Jacket(Yellow Jacket), Jacob, Sam, Strong Man, Tall Man, Wild Cat and Bull Wilson are all well known names from the "Absentee Delaware" now located in Anadarko, OK. Other names such as Little Axe, Little Jim, Tecumseh and some others seem to be Shawnee. It looks like quite a few of those men came to the 14th from the 2nd Indian Home Guards.

Records show most of Co. M enlisted at Belmont, KS the site of the temporary Wichita agency.
