In the ORs Vol 34, Part III, p.764-766, AAG T.M. Scott to BG S.B. Maxey contains the statements of a certain William Green which says "The Fourteenth Kansas, Moonlight commanding, about 600 or 700 strong, composed of Shawnees, Delawares, &c., with deserters from the Southern Army, and fellows taken out of jails and guardhouses, is in Fayetteville."

Can anyone confirm that the 14th contained any loyal Indians? Is the report incorrect and they are part of a different unit?
